Hey everyone. Obviously Alex and I have been gone for a couple weeks. I wanted to go ahead and let everyone know that we are TEMPORARILY suspending the podcast.
Neither of us really wants to, but real life has made it necessary. A combination of personal and health reasons involving us both is requiring all of our time and focus.
Let me be clear, this isn’t done. We’re not done. We will be back. We just need the time to settle the real life crap that’s happening.
We apologize to all of you who listen and look forward to these podcasts. Know that we love you guys. Your continued support over the last two years has been incredible and humbling.
For right now, we ask two things of you: patience and prayers.
Brent and Alex.
Come on now, you didn’t think we were gonna make it three weeks in a row, now did you?
Because we’re not.
And I hope whoever gave me this awesome stomach bug, well, a thousand years in the belly of a Sarlacc should make us about even.
So there’s no Drift Compatible this week. But I do have something for you. A new show I’m involved in. The Contrarians. Every Sunday evening at 8pmEST will be a live show with me, Andrea Ruth, Kyle Foley, and Jordan Ecarma. Our first episode was last night.
Due to both of us traveling, Drift Compatible is on hold temporarily. No worries, we’ll be back as soon as our schedules sync back up.
In the meantime, I managed to sneak in an appearance as a guest host on Far Beyond The Beltway with Andrea Ruth, Grant Gambling, and Matthias Shapiro.
FBTB Episode 21: RIP Justice Scalia and the Debate of the Debate
As you have no doubt noticed, there’s no podcast up. And there won’t be for this week due to illness in the Cochran household. I, Alex, and our guest are extremely disappointed.
Yes, we finally got around to having a guest.
Hopefully we will be able to reschedule with the guest for a future episode.
My apologies on the lack of podcast this week, but attempting to record while my wife is puking is probably a “bad idea”.
So for, literally, years I’ve been wanting to do a nice simple little Vast Right Wing Conspiracy t shirt.
Finally got off my ass and did one.
Anyone can follow the link and get one for a pretty reasonable price.
- There will be a podcast
- Due to scheduling issues, it will not be posted this morning
- The podcast will go up on Wednesday morning
Thank you and carry on.
(PS – LESS THAN 60 HOURS!!!)
AtC and I will be recording a new podcast this weekend. It will be published on Tuesday morning at 945am. The usual time.
We thank you all for the interest and the support. We’re very excited to be back and yelling at you.
Just a reminder, I will be appearing on RedState’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Friends tonight at 9pm.
Panel is me, Leon Wolf of RedState, Neal Dewing of The Federalist, Becket Adams of the Washington Examiner, Bill McMorris of the Washington Free Beacon and JeffB of the AceofSpadesHQ Decision Desk.
So it’s been a very long time since a podcast. A very large portion of that is on me. We’ve had multiple illnesses (pneumonia, upper respiratory infection and stomach bugs) go through the Cochran household. Plus, I believe I’ve mentioned before, my wife went back to work full time for the first time in 8 years. We were just about to get used to the schedule and how everything was going to work……and then the rug got pulled out. The school district decided that there weren’t enough kids at my wife’s school to justify that many kindergarten classes. So they decided to send my wife to a different school and she’s now teaching 3rd grade.
Yeah…..that was a lot of fun. We’re finally starting to get settled down and comfortable with everything again. So AtC and I talked the other day and agreed we needed to buckle down and get back on the podcast horse. You’ll be seeing new episodes from us shortly.
In other news, someone has made a grave, grave mistake. Success!
Alright folks, it’s October. That means playoffs and we got a lot of games in a short amount of time already. Let’s dive straight in, shall we?
AL Wild Card Play-In
The Houston Astros (yes, you read that right) beat the New York Yankees 3-0 to advance. Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel, pitching on 3 days rest, threw 6 shut out innings. Sipp, Harris and Gregerson each went 1 to complete the shutout. The Astros move on to face Kansas City.
NL Wild Card Play-In
Cubs vs Pirates. Yup. Cubs vs Pirates. The Pirates never really had a chance here. Arrieta was dominant in a complete game shutout. 9 innings. 11 K’s. 5 hits. 0 walks. 0 runs. Thanks for coming. Cubs head to take on division rival St. Louis.
